Medellin is the city of the never ending Spring, the climate is very enjoyable around 24 degrees by day, 18 by night, it’s also where the artist Botero come from and his statues are the main attraction of the city’s center.
Medellin is the second business center after Bogota, a 3 million people city. It’s also (unfortunately) infamous for it’s Drug Cartel and their chief Pablo Escobar, killed in 1993. 10 years ago from now the city was still a big place of violent conflict and chaos. Now it became one of the safest city of south america, although the narco traffic still exists and if you go out to the “upper class district” when you see some people showing off their car and the new pair of tits (silicon) they offered to their girlfriend, it’s very likely that they are part of this traffic. But that doesn’t interfere with tourists.
The ambition of the colombian people to get over the bad image that the city and the country has abroad is something you can feel by talking to them. Just sit sometimes on random banc and have a chat with an old guy, its a good way to get to know the people and the story of the place through them (not the stupid medias).
The nightlife is very very lively you can find an incredible number of bars and discos around the barrio named “El poblado” It’s almost like a “Disneyland of nightlife”, and let’s be honest, the number of gorgeous girl per square meters is a world record here. Of course the esthetic surgery is something big, you will notice a lot of big fake boobies, and sometimes some fake ass (which is really weird and ugly). But aside of those, in Colombia there is a lot of racial mix and there are a lot of gorgeous girls, the reputation is not based on fake facts😉
So it was high time to enjoy Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and other latin music. And oh….. i forgot to mention that here the dance is really body to body very close and very hot, love it!!!
The good side of being a foreigner is that you get eaten alive by girls who looks at you very straightly. It-s a pretty good feeling🙂
Full album to be seen there : (randomly organised though)
